My desi father attempts to fix my sullen mood:
Him: Oh ho ho ho ho.
Him: May I sit here? On corner of bed?
Him: Please to move a little inches away. I am too big for corner of bed.
Him: I bought that laptop for you, didn't I?
Him: All right. Tell me. What is it? Why so quiet-quiet?
Him: Why so down-down?
Him: Hmm?
Him: Come on. No? Okay.
Him: We can listen to sad musics together? Yes?
Him: When you are sad, I am sad. Simple, simple.
Him: But, remember, whatever Allah brings upon you - whether happiness or sadness - is a test of your faith and strength. And it is not necessary that you pass it right away. No, take your time but don't lose. I tell you a joke, yes? Allah gave me a wife and children to test my tolerance. You all are foolish idiots but I do not stop loving you, yes? Your mother has not made my favorite rice today but I have not complained for there will be better rice in heaven. Yes? Similarly you cannot hate life because of the sad times it gives you every now and then. There will be happy times. I promise you.
Him: Now smile, yes? Go on. You want to.
